2006 PC World Innovations Awards During CES
Winners to receive trophies at elite press event Jan. 5,
2006
SAN FRANCISCO and CLEVELAND; Dec. 7, 2005 – PC World, the most
widely-read computer or business magazine, along with ShowStoppers, producers
of award-winning media receptions, today announced an agreement to present
the 2006 PC World Innovations Awards at ShowStoppers during CES. The invitation-only
event will take place Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, 6:30 – 10:00 pm at
the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas.
With this agreement, PC World and ShowStoppers bring together for the
fifth consecutive year the finest technologies and hundreds of journalists
and decision-makers for in-depth interviews, demonstrations and sneak previews.
Known for their relaxed settings and signature style, ShowStoppers receptions
are exclusive, open only to media, industry analysts, and selected investment
firms. The 2006 PC World Innovations Awards honor trend-setting products
that have emerged with the convergence of PC technology and consumer electronics.
The winning products combine unique qualities with envelope-pushing design
and function. In addition, PC World will showcase highlights of the “Top
50 Tech Gadgets of the Past 50 Years,” as chosen by PC World editors
in an online-only article scheduled to debut this month.
“The partnership with PC World intensifies the value and excitement
of the reception,” said Steve Leon, ShowStoppers co-founder and partner. “Because
our event is designed to network key press with world-class products and
services, it’s a natural fit. The winners benefit from the added
press attention, and the media gain immediate access to even more high-quality
companies – all in one venue.”
Before selecting the 2006 PC World Innovations Awards winners (article
will be available Jan. 4, 2006 at www.pcworld.com), editors considered
hundreds of items before determining the final list.
