Happy holidays!

Business reporters are scanning sales of bright shiny tools and toys for breaking news and compelling stories. Industry analysts want to know what will be hot for the holidays – and how that translates into industry trends. It’s time for ShowStoppers for the Digital Holidays in NYC, the media capital of the planet.

Just in time for the gift-giving season. Just in time to push businesses into the black. It’s our third annual fall showcase for press and industry analysts covering consumer, business, lifestyle and digital technologies – for work, for home, for play.

When and where is ShowStoppers?

ShowStoppers for the Digital Holidays  will be held Wednesday, 24 Sept. 2008, in New York City.

The event starts at 6 pm and runs till 9 pm.

Who attends this event?

Reporters rave about our food. But they come for the hot products, the cool companies, the companies they know, the companies they haven’t discovered yet. Innovators. Award-winners. From start-ups to industry leaders. Discoveries outside the usual newsbeats. Surprises you can see only at ShowStoppers. Breaking news. Sneak previews. Execs to interview.

How does the event work?

ShowStoppers is a "walking" event fueled by a full dinner buffet and premium open bars for all attendees.  Journalists and analysts arrive and visit the sponsors at
their convenience, working their way around the room. Sponsors arrive two to three hours before the event begins to set up and grab a bite to eat.

You won't get lost in a crowd

Here’s how we keep ShowStoppers intimate. To start, we organize the room by newsbeats and product categories, to help reporters find you according to what they cover.

Then we create more opportunities for coverage of your company and your clients.

Are there different levels of sponsorship?

We have three sponsorship levels at this event: Standard, Deluxe, and Mini.

Standard sponsors receive a six-foot demo station, which comes with linen, signage, power, and (if ordered) high-speed Internet access and flat-screen television or computer displays. Standard sponsors can bring a maximum of four company and/or PR agency representatives to the event.

Deluxe sponsors receive two 6-foot tables, providing 12 feet of exhibit space, along with linen, signage, power and (if ordered) high-speed Internet access and flat-screen television or computer displays. In addition, Deluxe sponsors may bring a total of eight company and/or agency representatives to the event.

Mini sponsors share a standard table, yet also receive linen, signage, power and, if ordered, Internet access and displays.

Each table is 6 feet long by 30 inches wide.  Ever notice that whenever you meet people, you do it standing up?  We facilitate that process by raising our tables up to 42" from the floor. This means you're talking face to face and not turning your back and bending over when you demo products. Yes, we sweat the small stuff.

A standard demonstration table costs $5,000. A deluxe demonstration table costs $8,000. A mini-demonstration table costs $3,000.

We go beyond the box

Thinking about how to generate coverage for multiple clients? We have a long history of working with PR agencies – for example, grouping clients in the ballroom, to help you work the room and meet the press.

Need to get a car into the room? We’ve done it. With a Hummer -- that’s how Avis demonstrated a new GPS service and Autonet demonstrated its new mobile hotspot device. In other words, we’re flexible, we’re creative. What’s your special request?

Just as important, in the weeks leading up to ShowStoppers for the Digital Holidays, we hold your hand with clear instructions, with guidelines on how to contact the press, and we collect and distribute queries from reporters working on deadline.

Qualified press

ShowStoppers is the only press event that supplies you with press lists in advance of the event. In fact, we go one step further. Not only do we give you press lists prior to the event -- when reporters register to attend, we also collect newsbeats, turning a mere press list into a remarkably powerful, useful PR tool that gives you the unique ability to identify the reporters most likely to cover your company or your clients. In advance.

Got your own list of press you want to invite? We’ll mesh it with out our database and make sure your targets are invited.

And, we qualify the press. If a columnist writes for the Wall Street Journal, USA Today or Business Week, that’s easy. But we do vette bylines and URLs, especially for bloggers, vloggers and podcasters. Like you, we want qualified press in the room, not just the biggest body count.

Is ShowStoppers associated with Digital Life?

No, we’re not. ShowStoppers is an independent media event that is produced by and is a
registered trademark of ShowStoppers LLC. We've produced independent media events for 15 years.

Do we have to be an exhibitor at the tradeshow to participate?

No. As an independent press event, we don't require you to exhibit on the tradeshow floor.

What else does ShowStoppers do for me?

ShowStoppers handles all the promotion, invitations, and RSVPs for the event. We invite top-tier press and analysts, drawing from our own media databases and years of experience identying key press.

We review each journalist's RSVP to ensure that they will bring value to your efforts

Before the event, we regularly send you lists of pre-registered press, including name, address, phone number, email address and, most importantly, newsbeat information (if provided during their registration process), which you can then use to contact and make appointments to meet the press at ShowStoppers.

We assemble an press kit on a USB memory stick which is given to each journalist and analyst that attends.

Do I get to pick my location in the room?

Yes. However, table assignments are done based upon a few "conditions."

We organize the room by newsbeats, to help reporters find you. While we don't force you to be in a given area of the room, if your company produces GPS systems for vehicles, it makes sense for you to be in the Wireless Mobility section of the room.

We then assign tables based upon the the following criteria:

  • Companies that sponsor two tables pick their location first.
  • The date we receive your signed agreement -- so the sooner you sign up, the better your chance are of getting the location you wish.
  • One week prior to the event. If you have not yet picked your location, we assign your table.

What other opportunities for coverage does ShowStoppers create?

Companies that sponsor two tables also get national promotional mentions during an hour of the show time on Into Tomorrow, Into Tomorrow logothe network program that covers the latest in consumer electronics and technology, airing every weekend on over 100 stations across the US and Canada, on XM and Sirius Satellite Radio, and beamed globally by satellite on the Armed Forces Radio Network. We can also put you in contact with Dave's producers to explore the possibility of having an "Inside ShowStoppers" radio interview with Dave during ShowStoppers.
