Just to thank you and the team for yesterday´s ShowStoppers. Got to see a lot of great products and ideas in a very short time. This is just impossible at MWC itself – you lose the overview. I use Showstoppers as a benchmark on innovative technology and I appreciate the support you give to journalists in providing opportunities to talk in depth with a wide range of people. Like last year, the 2010 event was full of surprises. I hope there are more ShowStoppers to come.
Scott Kraft, Utah Channel 3
Thank you for allowing our crew to attend ShowStoppers. Your event was amazing. With an entire CES show to cover, it is difficult to find the “gems” among the masses. However, the exhibitors that attended ShowStoppers were some of the most interesting and innovative. Most were NOT on our “radar” going into the CES show. Having the opportunity to go one on one with the exhibitors in an informal “press” environment and not competing with retailers or the general public was nothing less than awesome.
Steve Kruschen, Mr. Gadget
ShowStoppers is always a great event at CES, the best for-the-media of any. Thank you for yet another memorable and worthwhile event … Pocket Radar was a hit with me at your as-usual wonderful ShowStoppers event for CES 2010. Yours is consistently the best media-only event wherever there is a ShowStoppers, so keep up the great work! It is much appreciated.

I truly meant it and found Showstoppers to be a wonderful event this year with some outstanding vendors present. Every single booth I stopped at was meaningful and valuable …
Now that I am back and fully recovered from CES 2010, I wanted to create a summary post of my coverage to serve as a resource for future product and service announcements so I can see what I thought at the time I was exposed to them in Vegas. I also learned another CES lesson and that was to skip the CES Unveiled event and tack on a day at the other end so I can spend more time covering the show floor. Unfortunately, I had too little time to walk the floor and was very disappointed I missed wandering the ebook zone and checking out all the other gadgets … I actually found Showstoppers to be the best one I have been to yet.
Mark Milian, Los Angeles Times
I was glad I attended ShowStoppers because I made a valuable connection with the CEO of Answers.com — someone I probably would have never met elsewhere. He had some very interesting things to talk about, and I’ll probably do a story on Answers in the coming weeks.
Bruce Pechman, Mr. Bicep, “The muscle man of tech,” Good Morning San Diego
This was the best ShowStoppers to date — awesome companies, great food, drink, and sweets!
Buzz Bruggerman, analyst and consultant, ActiveWords
I already mentioned a couple of times on Twitter that I think that ShowStoppers is the best thing I do at CES.
Ying Wang, Pacific Investors
We met two early stage companies exhibiting there and they are to send us some time this month their respective private placement memorandum for us to analyze as to a possible equity investment. We will keep you informed if our due diligence leads to an equity investment.
Dick DeBartolo, The Giz Wiz
It was a great event. I did my reports “live” for Computer America right there. That was a wonderful idea to have all those broadcasting set-ups at the back of the room. And I also did some “live” broadcasting for Leo Laporte & TWiT there too. And I’ll be using some products on The Daily Giz Wiz which is also on the TWiT network.
Deb Frey, DaVinci Institute
I will be writing an article to post on the Impactlab.com regarding the Showstoppers event. I will also post one to askdavetaylor.com. I will use CES in the tags to make it easier for you to find. Thank you for the awesome event. You did a great job putting it on.
Bill Coggshall, Pacific Media Associates
I scheduled my flights especially so I would make it in time for your event in Barcelona.
Dick DeBartolo, World News Now, ABC
I don’t schedule interviews. I do ShowStoppers.
Scott Rindenow, KCBS & KCAL
Showstoppers was amazing. Of the three — [EventX, EventY] and Showstoppers — Showstoppers was the best by far. The location was ideal, the layout was ideal, and the food and air conditioning was the best. I was in a meeting with the head of products of the Cobra company, we we discussed the three events. They were at [EventX] event only. I suggested to them that they may want to consider participating in Showstoppers next year.
Preston Davis, ABC TV
The show is terrrific, it is hard to imagine how you could improve on it.
Andy McCaskey, SlashdotReview.com
I just wanted to thank you for the invitation to Showstoppers. It was by far the most productive event that we had during the entire week as we provided coverage for the Tech Podcast Network, along with Todd Cochrane of Geek News Central. Please include me in your mailing list for future events at other shows.
John Thomson, Marketnews & Here’s How
Great job. AS CES becomes bigger and bigger, your show becomes more important. We saw a number of interesting products such as the new Garmin GPS, the carbon fibre bike frame from Delta7 Sports, among others that we would never stumbled across had it not been for your show.

BTW, I may not attend the next CES, opting to just attend Showstoppers. About 85 percent of the companies on my must see list for the WHOLE CES show were at Showstoppers. Could have saved a TON of time and leg power…. Besides, the food was MUCH better.
Brian Underdahl, author, 20+ books
Why bother with another event sponsored by the event organizers when ShowStoppers is really the only one that matters?
Bill Kuhn, Collins Stewart LLC
I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the companies and viewing the products. You really put on a well-thought out and well-organized show. I accomplished more during your show than I did at the actual tradeshow. I look forward to attending next year.
Danny Brier, TeleChoice & mBLAST
ShowStoppers is SOOOO much better than the [other events] every year. [EventX] has such huge companies that usually are announcing very little — ShowStoppers always has smaller more interesting and leading edge companies. It’s so much more enjoyable.
Matthew Bronson, Matthew Bronson Show, WMEL Radio & WMELtv.com
Showstoppers was definitely the highlight of our CES experience. We made many contacts and plan on a weekly segment based on the vendors we connected with.
Mary Branscombe, technology journalist
It’s the most valuable single event.
Richard Oppenheim, Oppenheim Group
Great show – AGAIN. This was my first visit to CTIA – all because of you hosting a Showstoppers event. Good stuff, lots of smart people to converse, dialogue, sniff out the new and useful/useable stuff.
Tuong H. Nguyen, Senior Analyst, Mobile Devices, Gartner.
I just wanted to mention that this year’s CTIA event was excellent. As usual there were a variety of vendors covering all aspects of mobile. This is especially useful because many of us cover numerous topics; and given our busy show schedules, we almost never have time to visit anyone on the show floor. These events allow us to interact with many vendors we would otherwise not get to meet in person. What made the event truly outstanding this year was the food. I’ve been in the industry for over 5 years (and attended numerous ShowStoppers) and this is some of the best food (regardless of being buffet-style) that I’ve had at any event. A number of my colleagues also attended the event and agree with this assessment. Thanks again for the invitation and looking forward to the next one in the Fall.
Gerard Hallaren, JRPG Investment Research
First of all, thank you for inviting me to ShowStoppers. It was the single most productive hour I spent at CTIA. You have a superb event. I visited a similar event on Tuesday and yours was vastly better. There was less pressure to “move along” and the company representatives at ShowStoppers were generally of higher caliber. Also the memory stick is much more helpful than a CD provided by the competiitor. Coverage so far, was an investor teleconference on Friday. Soon we will publish the transcript with that call and an overview. In the overview we identify the most important things from the show. Specifically, from the event we will be featuring VANU and Novatel as two of the 5 most significant ideas/events from CTIA. Had we not had the time at ShowStoppers we would never have gleaned the understanding or importance of each.
