Building on the success of the original four-bay Drobo, Drobo S now offers more of everything. It’s faster, quieter, more flexible, and it supports up to five drives, providing even more capacity. Anyone with large amounts of data to access and protect will appreciate the “set it and forget it” nature of Drobo S.
Now featuring eSATA, a data transfer interface, Drobo S is fast enough to keep up with today’s most data-intensive tasks. eSATA provides more than enough speed for tasks ranging from editing high-definition (HD) video footage, to storing and accessing large raw digital image files. With its fast eSATA interface, FireWire 800, and USB 2.0 connectivity, Drobo S is flexible enough to connect to almost any modern system available.
Adding capacity to Drobo S is as simple as inserting a new hard drive, or replacing the smallest drive with a larger one even when all five bays are full! And unlike older RAID systems, the BeyondRAID technology in Drobo S enables mixing-and-matching of capacities, drive brands, and speeds, allowing for the flexibility of continuous expansion as drive capacities grow, and larger drives become available.
