Anything you can imagine, printed, 3D, in full color

Shapeways allows creative people with various levels of 3D modeling software skills, from none to very experienced, affordable access to the latest 3D printing technologies.  Until now, designs created at www.Shapeways.com existed in stainless steel or a single color plastic, black, grey or white, which could be dyed in a handful of single, solid colors.  Now, for the first time, 3D modelers and consumers can literally 3D print objects, including figurines, puzzles and more, in Full Color Sandstone.

Skilled 3D modelers can use Full Color to enhance the dimension of their 3D designs, creating realistic color models without using paint or dyes.  Consumers will be able to order these items from the Shapeways online shops and even co-create personalized giftware in full color without any 3D modeling skills.  For example, they can easily upload a color photograph and turn it into a full color 3D photo using the Shapeways Photoshaper Creator.

Personal production is the future. Shapeways not only offers micro production capabilities, but it also offers a unique platform to 3D modelers, whereby they can set up a shop to sell their own designs directly to consumers. Shapeways takes care of production, packaging, shipping and all customer care.  Consumers can personalize their designs and order exactly what they want, as opposed to the pre-designed, mass produced items found at retail.
