Sick of kissing too many frogs? Not sure if the guy or girl you met at the bar last night is worth dinner and a movie?
Enter Intelius’ DateCheck, a new mobile application that helps singles decipher the dream dates from the duds.
With only a name, email, or phone number, Date Check mobile searches publicly available information to instantly provide an on-the-go background profile of new acquaintances. In addition to basic information like name, age and address, Date Check searches social networking sites for additional data. The “Sleaze Detector” feature of Date Check scans criminal records to determine if anyone matching that name has a criminal record with offenses such as drug possession, assault and battery, sex crimes and DUI, among others. The “$$$”feature gives users information about property ownership.
What’s newsworthy for CES?
Intelius is hosting a special Date Check Dating Game. CES attendees are invited to participate in a new spin on the classic game show. The game offers up three potential bachelors for a lucky bachelorette, but in addition to asking the usual first date questions, each contestant will be put to the test with the Date Check mobile app, so daters can make intelligent and informed decisions about potential dates.
Additionally, Date Check has been selected as one of the top ten finalists to compete in the Mobile Apps Showdown on January 9, where the audience will vote on the best mobile app at CES 2010.
